My name is Amber, and my husband and I are hoping to grow our family together. After years of healing and finding love again, we’ve never felt more ready to welcome a child into our lives.

A few months ago, we received the joyful news that I was pregnant. It felt like a miracle—a sign that our dreams were finally coming true. But our happiness was cut short when we lost the baby due to complications from Essure, a permanent birth control procedure I had over a decade ago. At that time, after the devastating loss of my daughter to SIDS, I believed I would never want more children. Through therapy, time, and meeting my incredible husband, my heart opened again to the possibility of family. Now, we face a difficult reality: because of the Essure implants, our only options to have a biological child together are surgical removal or IVF—both of which come with significant emotional and financial challenges.
